It’s a time-honored tradition at Navy homecomings – one lucky sailor is chosen to be first off the ship for the long-awaited kiss with a loved one.
Today, for the first time, the happily reunited couple was gay.
The dock landing ship Oak Hill has been gone for nearly three months, training with military allies in Central America.
As the homecoming drew near, the crew and ship’s family readiness group sold $1 raffle tickets for the first kiss. Petty Officer 2nd Class Marissa Gaeta bought 50 - which is actually fewer than many people buy, she said, so she was surprised Monday to find out she’d won.
Her girlfriend of two years, Petty Officer 3rd Class Citlalic Snell, was waiting when she crossed the brow.
They kissed. The crowd cheered. And with that, another vestige of the policy that forced gays to serve in secrecy vanished.

Clap!

Landon now understands what the word Clap means without you clapping :) He did it today when the show on tv said Clap. He recognizes so much now!

He knows vacuum, outside, more, hungry, milk, bath, daddy, mommy, bella, brush our teeth, potty, sleepy & a ton I can’t remember. He is even FINALLY signing hungry and more! Gosh he is growing up way to fast!

Re-arrange.

I continue to rearrange the house.

First it was because I wanted room for our tree.

Then is was because I wanted the tree somewhere else.

Then it was because I hated the way some things were placed.

Then I wanted it to be more open in the room I just moved around.

Then I wanted the computer in the livingroom.

Then I wanted to make room in the bedroom for my new Gazelle :)

Then we needed room for the Boflex. (Yes we have created a home gym, good thing the elliptical is in the garage or i’d go nuts!)

Now I am trying to figure out where to put all landon’s christmas presents.

I swear I am going to drive myself crazy & still want to move things.

Oh how I love OCD.

OCD Rearrange

Robert Pattinson: “If you find a girl who reads, keep her close. When you find her up at 2 AM clutching a book to her chest and weeping, make her a cup of tea and hold her. You may lose her for a couple of hours but she will always come back to you. She’ll talk as if the characters in the book are real, because for a while, they always are. Date a girl who reads because you deserve it. You deserve a girl who can give you the most colorful life imaginable. If you can only give her monotony, and stale hours and half-baked proposals, then you’re better off alone. If you want the world and the worlds beyond it, date a girl who reads.”
